Parental Consent

Your child will never attend a day / weekend / week activity without you prior written consent.

Supervision & Safety

The Sea Cadet Corps imposes very high standards on it's staff members to ensure that any supervisor has the correct qualification for the activity. Cadets will always be issued with the relevant safety equipment (such as lifejackets) before an activity commences. All Cadets and staff are fully insured to take part in Sea Cadet activities.

Special Needs

Woking & District Unit will do it's very best to accommodate any children with special needs. Please speak to the Commanding Officer if you have a child that requires special attention.

How much will it cost ?

Enrolment

There is no enrolment fee as such. But you will need to provide some items of clothing:

  • Junior Sea Cadets:

We will give you full details of how to purchase an appropriate sweatshirt and you will need to supply black trousers and shoes. A beret will be provided by the Unit for a minimal deposit.
  • Sea Cadets:

£25.00 non-refundable deposit. We will issue the cadet with two uniforms and replace these with new uniforms as required throughout the cadet's service. Cadets will need to provide their own boots and shoes.

Subscriptions

Camps

Camps are normally inexpensive, but do vary from location to location. A rough guide is shown below. The cost of camps includes transport, accommodation and food.

How you can help

Although the Sea Cadet Corps do receive help from the Royal Navy in certain areas, we are totally self-funding for the day-to-day running costs. We have an active Parents and Supporters Association (PSA), which raises money for the cadets' needs. New members are always welcome. The PSA meets on a monthly basis and organises social and fund raising events.

Gift Aid will pay a vital role in boosting TS Dianthus's income. We can claim 28% from personal donations and 2% from business donations. Gift Aid does not cost you any more money - it allows us to claim the Income Tax you paid onyour earnings! §
